Llamas and Goats and Dogs! Oh my!We share out farm pets with you on our Guided Llama and Goat Treks . . . Yep! Live real goats and a llama! Bob has been talking about this for years, so now Jim has relented and we've added two milking goats! The goats, Sophie and Snehurka arrived on June 12, 2002, dragged here in the back seat of the pickup truck, on Bob's lap! They are just lovely, as goats go! They have their own little goaty house in the field next to the house, and we milk them twice a day, at about 9:30AM and 9:30PM. Stop by and watch a milking. And . . .on January 5, 2003, Vincent the Llama was the newest addition! You can read a rather funny story about our goats, written by Bob, in The Cracker Barrel. You can also see all our animals here. "Well, what do they DO?" is what people tend to ask. Both llamas and goats are loyal, adventurous and smart. So we've added Llama and Goat Trekking to our offerings. Our guided treks include a 4-hour hike through the Vermont woods, along scenic streams and woods, and to the shore of Lake Whitingham, accompanied by a goat and a llama who carry our country picnic lunch in packs for us. This is a low to medium exertion guided hike, suitable for most people, and includes your guide, a goat, a llama, beverages and snacks (including goat cheese!), and a great picnic lunch on the shores of the Harriman Reservoir, with time for a dip at the Ledges if you choose. 4-Hour Guided Trek for 2 persons including lunch is $200Additional persons at $20 per person
