Averill Stand has been a landmark in Wilmington, Vermont for over 200 years! A true historic treasure, we're located near Mount Snow, the Marlboro Music Festival, Adams Farm and an array of Vermont attractions. Once the local stagecoach stop, the Stand isn't pristeen and cookie-cutter! It's a genuine Vermont country experience filled with the pleasures of enjoying your stay in a piece of history!
We are gradually returning "the Stand" to its' historical roots as a working farm, and have (so far) added 3 dairy goats, a few chickens, 3 barn cats, a few bunnies and our most surprising animal, Vincent the Llama, thanks to our good friends at Maple Street Catering! (The best caterers we know in the state!) Averill Stand specializes in parties from 2 to 20, and is the ideal place for a cozy and intimate country-style civil union. The experience here is quaint, intimate and homey, a throwback to bygone days when the wonderful experience of a stay at the Inn was all about friendliness and warmth.
We invite you to join us in one of our comfortable and reasonably-priced guest rooms. A great Vermont Breakfast is included, as well as free parking and complimentary beverages (hot cocoa, fresh Mocha Joe's coffee, tea and hot cider in winter, lemonade and iced tea in summer), and free firewood. Select rooms have cordless phones with voice mail, allowing you to walk the grounds and the flea market with your phone, if you desire. We also have fax service, personal message service, and more. All our rooms feature luxurious, all-natural soap by Vermont Soapworks. Our breakfasts, like our hospitality, are natural, hearty and plentiful! And all our hospitality has just a tinge of European influence, where "casual elegance" is an art . . . a result of our modeling our services on our experiences in during many months traveling through dozens of inviting European hotels, guest houses, pensiones and B&B's!
